Calvary Baptist Church
Statement of Faith
We Believe that the Bible, Scriptures, and both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error. And are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
God
We Believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We Believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been divinely conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High, where He now is serving as our High Priest and Advocate.
The Holy Spirit
We Believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ during this age, serving to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
Man
We Believe that Man was created in the image and likeness of God. But fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through accepting Jesus Christ as Savior, and the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
Salvation
We Believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provides the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who verbally confess and receive Jesus Christ by faith are spiritually born of the Holy Spirit and thus are adopted and have become children of God.
The Return of Jesus Christ
We Believe that The personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is our hope and has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. We Believe that on a day of the Lord’s choosing, Jesus Christ along with the Heaven’s Arch-Angels, and the Heavenly host will “descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Arch-Angel. And those of us who are alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air”.
Future Events
We Believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
The Church
We Believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons, who through the saving faith in Jesus Christ, has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.
Baptism and Communion
We Believe that Water baptism by full body immersion after accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. We Believe that the Lord’s Supper is celebrated as a memorial observing the sacred and symbolic manner of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; and that all true believers and only believers should share in it.
